Here is what happened to the two "hundred year" pine trees we felled to build our house.

Dan Ludwig operates an independent sawmill in Fairlee, totally "off-the-grid." He arranged to pick up my felled tree segments and to render them into usable lumber. Here is what has happened so far.
Here are the trees I cut down, sawed into planks and "stickered" to dry over the winter

My trees prooved to be prettier that they were strong, so I traded some of my very desirable wide boards for these younger trees. They will be sawed to become 6x10 and 6x12 beams.
